This quick and easy Garlic Butter Pasta Recipe features tender pasta shells coated in a rich, creamy garlic-infused butter sauce. Finished with Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs, this flavorful dish is ready in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
1 lb (454g) pipette or shell pasta
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
6 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh lemon wedges, for serving
Fresh oregano and thyme sprigs, for garnish
Flaky sea salt and cracked black pepper, for seasoning
Instructions
Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pipette pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: While the pasta cooks, melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. If using, add the red pepper flakes and dried oregano.
Create the Creamy Sauce: Turn the heat to low. Whisk in the reserved pasta water and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Toss and Finish: Add the drained pasta directly to the skillet. Toss to coat well in the sauce. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the grated Parmesan cheese. Toss until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
Serve: Season with sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh oregano sprigs, thyme, and a lemon wedge for squeezing over the top.
