Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20 is best)

  • ¾ cup plain breadcrumbs

  • ½ cup whole milk

  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp kosher salt & ½ tsp black pepper

  • Glaze: ½ cup ketchup, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp yellow mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with foil.

  2. Mix: In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix just until blended to keep it tender.

  3. Shape: Transfer the meat mixture to your baking sheet and form it into a 9x5-inch loaf.

  4. Glaze: Whisk the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard together. Spread it evenly over the top of the loaf.

  5. Bake: Bake for 45-55 minutes until the center reaches 160°F (71°C).

  6. Rest: Let the meatloaf sit for 10 minutes before slicing so the juices settle. Enjoy!
